Day 4 - Blog Tripping

This is my favorite itinerary/mission so far! Shopping!!!!

Dubai is known for great shopping malls and enormous ones for that matter. We boast of souks (traditional small shops) for gold, spices. There are also small and big malls in the city so visiting one is just a tip of the iceberg.

My place is in the suburbs so I normally frequent Dubai Festival City which is a "city" in itself because it has hotels, shopping mall, hypermarket, IKEA, ACE Hardware store, restaurants and offices all in one area. That is why it's called DFC or Dubai Festival City.

It's just a mere 15 to 20 minutes drive from my place to this place I call my "2nd home." Hehehe! Here are pictures of the mall and it's surrounding areas.

Below is the view of the waterfront just outside the DFC.

Some snaps of my shopping sessions with the in-laws in DFC =)

Above is the mini-canal with an "abra" to ferry people to the other side of the mall.

Outside the mall

I took this from the 3rd floor. Those small cymbals are for the dropping water on this fountain. It's a musical fountain.

This is the initial part of the mall which opened to the public first before the rest was completed recently. On the left is the entrance to Ikea and the right side is the Panda Hypermarket. Below this are small coffee shops, banks, pharmacy, clinic, my favorite electronic store - Plug-Ins.

Below is the view from the bridge going to Magrudy's.

This is my favorite bookstore here in Dubai - Magrudy's!

This is the stairs with the fountain. This is already the main shopping mall which is near the mini-canal and the waterfront.

Intercontinental Hotel - beside the mall and on the waterfront.

Ikea

I have other malls which I frequent too but this is my favorite spot. There's Deira City Centre too which is near this mall but it's not as big as this one. It also houses some of my favorite shops like Forever 21, GAP, Debenhams, Esprit, Guess, H & M, Topshop, Aldo, Nine West and the big Carrefour supermarket. DFC does not have GAP so I have to go to Deira City Centre to get my stuff.

  1. Aww, too bad when I visited it's not yet there. Dubai is quite memorable for me. If given the chance, I'd like to go back sometime soon. :)
