Dubzplay Announces the Launch of the UAE’s First Hit Mobile Game, StyleCity Dubai

Revolutionising the mobile application Industry in the MENA region

Dubai, UAE — Dubzplay, a dynamic and fresh development company specialising in AAA mobile games and applications announces the launch of StyleCity, the chart-topping Appstore mobile game created in the region, for the region. 

With over 200,000 downloads, StyleCity is the fastest downloaded game in the UAE, having topped the charts within the first two days of launch. The mobile game takes users on a journey through Dubai’s trendiest spots in real-time with hundreds of different venues, shops and events to visit and over 1,500 unique items of clothing and accessories to style characters. StyleCity aims to revolutionise the MENA region’s gaming industry in terms of quality, depth and user experience. At each location, players can put their fashion sense to the ultimate test. In the single-player mode, users are presented with different scenarios in which they are judged for their ability to pick the perfect look; while a daily multiplayer competition runs in parallel, pitting all the players against one another.

Mohannad Khallouf

Driven, techy and curious. Mohannad Khallouf is the Co-Founder and CEO of Dubzplay, a company that is revolutionizing the gaming and mobile application industry in the MENA region while raising the flag for local talent. Well versed in programming languages, graphic design and animation, in addition to having extensive creative and communications experience, Khallouf heads product development while managing the overall workflow and strategy of the company. 

Born and raised in Dubai, Khallouf is partly self-taught, having begun his programming education at the age of 12 and then gone on to study marketing at the University of Phoenix, Arizona.

Khallouf has an extensive marketing career; his journey started with the Chalhoub Group, one of the most notable names in regional fashion, where he worked in the Marketing department for Ralph Lauren. In 2010 Khallouf moved to Greenline Group for three years, a leading interior design firm, to head the Marketing team. In 2012 Khallouf joined Swiss-based wealth management firm, LA Cloche Wealth Management, in Dubai International Financial Centre as the Global Marketing Director. Khallouf’s final stint saw him move to Hashtag Studio in 2013, a creative agency in its infancy, to set up the Communications department, which he led for clients such as Durise and the UAE football league.

In 2015 Khallouf joined fellow Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Dubzplay, Wael Abdulkader to start the second phase of his entrepreneurial journey, a moment that marked an exciting frontier with endless possibilities.

“I had a belief in homegrown talent and this region. The tech industry is the future of the UAE, and we are playing an important part in this development. Wael Abdulkader

 Dependable, passionate and motivated. Wael Abdulkader is a leading company structuring consultant and the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Dubzplay, a company that is revolutionizing the gaming industry in the MENA region while raising the flag for local talent.  

Born in the United States in Virginia, Abdulkader moved to Dubai at the age of 1 where he has resided for most of his life bar a two-year stint in Montreal, Canada. Armed with a BA in Business Administration from the American University in Dubai, Abdulkader was persuaded by his father to follow in his footsteps and join the insurance industry, a path he followed for only 3 years. From here, Abdulkader joined the company formation industry with Sentinel, marking a pivotal chapter in his career where he launched over 40 UAE companies and aided them in their early phase operational workflow.

In November 2015, Abdulkader joined fellow Co-Founder and CEO of Dubzplay, Mohannad Khallouf to start Dubzplay, a moment he sites as his proudest to date. 

“I have always had a real passion for gaming and technology. What motivates me can be broken down into two parts. Firstly, the motivation of presenting something homegrown to the people of this region that they can be proud of and secondly, to break free from the day-to-day repetitiveness of a nine to five job. Dubzplay is my greatest accomplishment; we have turned this project from a bunch of scribbles on a tissue paper during a casual meeting at a cafe into reality,” Abdulkader said. 

Today, Abdulkader supports CEO Khallouf in managing the Dubzplay workflow in addition to holding all HR and legal-related responsibilities. Abdulkader sees his contribution to the world as an opportunity to show people and places in their best light. “If people look at my work and appreciate at least a tiny grain of it then I have succeeded,” he says.
