Dogs can also be susceptible to ear infections just like humans do and that is quite common. If you are a dog owner, you may be aware of the signs and symptoms of a dog’s ear infection. If not, here are some tell-tale signs that your precious fur baby needs to have its ears checked.
- walking in circles, seems to be disoriented
- loss of balance
- hair loss around the ear
- scratching of the ear or around the ear
- crusts and/or scabs inside the ear
- odour coming out of the ear
- weird eye movements
- swelling and redness
If you suspect that your dog may have ear infection, it is best to bring him/her to your vet for check up. Your vet may prescribe a medication like posatex. However, do not provide your own medication to your dog. Follow the instructions properly and when in doubt, check with the vet.
